Build a Simple Website — Part 1
In my previous article, How to Build a Simple Website, I outlined the most high level steps of getting your own website up and running. This will break down those initial steps into (hopefully) easy-to-follow directions that your most UN-tech savvy family member can perform.
Step One:
To keep things as simple as possible, let’s go to GoDaddy.com to purchase a domain name (YourCompanyName.com).
Once you’re on the GoDaddy.com website, click on Domain Names in the upper left corner of the browser window & a domain name search box will appear. (You have to do a search to find out whether the domain name you’d like to use has already been purchased.)
There are multiple .com alternatives available such as:
.co, .net, .shop, .live, .xyz, .pro, .club
Once you find a domain name that you’d like to purchase AND it shows to be available, click on Continue to Cart.
